How we're different
Maleny Orchard offers space for true DIY and a unique experience for your destination wedding. We hire the space to you, and you apply your creative flair and design your event however you envision it. By giving you creative control of your day, you stay in control of the overall costs. You choose the food, decorations, itinerary and BYO drinks to help keep costs down.
When we describe our place to people, we think there are two significant parts to it, our handsome 1980s farmhouse, and the beautiful
property it sits on. There is so much here to explore and enjoy.
The House
Our large kitchen opens to the lounge and fireplace, so everybody can be together during the pre-wedding festivities. Two large fridges and two ovens makes it easy to cater for large groups. The indoor fireplace is central to the main living area, making it the heart of the house. Maleny is cool enough to enjoy the fireplace most months of the year, and we supply you with a large basket of firewood.
We have a wood fired hot tub which overlooks the lawn and view of the mountains. The water for this comes straight from the rainwater tanks and is therefore free of chemicals. This enables you to feel comfortable in the hot water all afternoon until the stars come out. We recommend making an event out of heating the hot tub as it does take a couple of hours to get ready.
Our latest addition to the farmhouse is our cedar sauna, ready for you to enjoy. Use with dry or humid heat, it’s the perfect wind
down the day after your wedding.
Our farmhouse has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, comfortably sleeping ten guests. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and ensuite, the library and blue room have queen beds, and the kids' room has four singles. We also have a portacot available too.

The Property
Our place is accessed via a 450 metre private driveway that winds through rainforest, past the orchard and lake, before opening up to
180 degree views spanning from Moreton Island across the iconic Glasshouse Mountains to Woodford.
Spend your time wandering through our orchard. We grow oranges, lemons, limes, mandarins, tangerines, avocados, jaboticaba, sapote,
macadamias, mangoes, guava, panama berries and many more tropical fruits for you to try.
We have both European and native bee hives from which we harvest our own honey, and give a jar of honey to all our couples who
come for a viewing.
We have a loop walk that circles the grounds around the house. This 30-minute walk mixes different views of the mountains and
rainforest, as well as passing through the alpaca pen and beside the lake. Click the button below to view our Loop Walk map.
The Maleny Orchard
Experience
Why not celebrate your wedding with friends and family, sitting around a fire pit, watching the sun go down, and the stars come out. As with
the indoor fire, we provide guests with firewood which has fallen naturally around the property and has been split and seasoned ready
for use.
We have a small herd of alpacas who live in the paddock at the eastern side of the house. These girls are our pets and do a great job of keeping the grass down. If you would like to feed them, ask us for some special alpaca treats, and we can help you get your photo taken with these beautiful animals.
You may notice some cows in the field in front of our house. These cows belong to Maleny Dairies, and they come over to our place for a rest from milking. They are very friendly and most of them love a pat and scratch on the head. They also love being in your bridal portrait photos!
